The Foundation’s catchment area includes the following towns in New Hampshire and Southern Maine: Portsmouth, Rye, Greenland, Newington, New Castle, North Hampton, Hampton, Seabrook; Kittery, Eliot, York

Geographic alignment is assessed based on where program participants reside, where services are delivered, and how strongly the work benefits Seacoast residents. While priority is given to programs with strong local reach, regional and systems-level efforts that demonstrate clear benefit to Seacoast residents may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

• Mental Health: Strengthening mental and behavioral health through prevention, early intervention, and access to care.

• Healthy Aging: Ensuring older adults remain healthy, independent, and connected.

• Thriving Communities: Advancing the conditions that contribute to thriving communities, including access to care, housing stability, food security, economic opportunity, and building civic belonging.

• Career Pathways: Providing opportunities for health-related education and careers.

• Equity Focus: The Foundation values organizations that seek to improve health outcomes for individuals and communities most affected by systemic barriers to health and opportunity.

We support:

• Organizations recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (excluding private foundations) 

• Public entities such as municipalities, schools, and colleges with programs that impact health 

• Community partnerships or consortiums with a fiscal sponsor

We do not support:

• Political or lobbying activities 

• Sectarian or religious programs 

• Grants to individuals 

• Loans or debt repayment 

• Capital or endowment campaigns 

• For-profit organizations or programs that primarily benefit for-profit entities

Budget Guidance:

The Foundation typically will not fund more than 20% of an organization’s annual operating budget. Applicants should align their requests accordingly.

Annual Grant Eligibility:  

Organizations may receive funding through only one open grant cycle per calendar year. Directed grants are not subject to this limitation.
